Part of the vision for The B Hive is to give back to our community in as many ways as we can. We do that through supporting you in your businesses, passions and endeavors but also supporting local non-profit organizations and charities around Austin. We will ultimately be featuring one local organization each quarter (starting in October 2016) where additional proceeds from our product sales, and paid events will go to. But we also want to implement IMPACT days into our regular event schedule! The IMPACT days may be in correlation with the quarter's charity or it may be completely separate.
Because we won't be starting our Quarterly Featured Charity until October, for September we'll be doing an IMPACT day for the Homeless. From 2015 to 2016 there was a 20% increase in the number of homeless people on the streets of Austin. This year they counted over 2000 people. With the heat these past few weeks and the overcrowding at the shelter, many homeless people are without basic hygiene necessities like toothbrushes, deodorant and tolietries. We will be putting together a list of items we would like to collect and put together into packages. On September 10th, we will take a trip downtown and handout the Hygiene Packages to as many as homeless people as we can!
